STUDY HARD.
Train Hard.

Introducing the rowing program we have all been waiting for - an opportunity to advance from the beginner to the elite level under the guidance and support of a highly motivated and qualified coaching and training team. The advantages for the student-athlete are paramount as academic rigor and age-appropriate athletic development are managed in harmony. The result is a student-athlete experience founded on the fundamental core values of cura personalis. The framework has been developed to promote, educate and train our students with unyielding integrity to support whole health. We are committed to seeking talent and helping our rowers for the duration of their high school tenure and beyond to Olympic Development Programs and the college recruitment process.

our mission & our
vision

Our mission is to uphold the legacy of excellence established by the pioneering female rowers of St. Ignatius and continue fostering a supportive and empowering environment for our athletes. On the water, in the boathouse, at school, our rowers learn, train, and succeed with unyielding integrity, resolve, and leadership.

Our vision is to remain a force to be reckoned with in regional and national competitions while promoting the values of cura personalis - whole health, whole human.

Decades of excellence

The St. Ignatius College Prep Women's Rowing Team commemorated the remarkable milestone of 30 years since its first graduating class in 1993. Over the past three decades, our women's team athletes have become a community of NCAA Champions, Olympic candidates, master's athletes, and lifelong Wildcat women. We are alumnae of dozens of universities throughout the United States, from the Ivy League to the Pac-12. We are industry leaders, dedicated mentors, and devoted volunteers.

Maintaining focus on the horizon line propels our team's efforts, offering a roadmap for sustained growth and success that positively influences athletes, the school, and the broader SI community. These strategic initiatives not only provide a clear sense of direction, purpose, and aspiration but also serve as guiding principles for the team's efforts over the long term. Consistent adherence to structured plans and accountability motivates our collective pursuit of the long-term vision. Together, we can cultivate a positive team culture and prepare athletes for both on-water and off-water challenges.

Equipment & Facilities

Strategic planning is essential as we navigate a comprehensive fleet plan to refurbish and replace equipment in alignment with our mission and vision. The introduction of a 'pay to play' model for funding staff, equipment upgrades, and facility maintenance serves as a commitment to the longevity of our gear while fostering a collective investment in our shared success. This pragmatic approach guarantees access to the necessary tools and resources, empowering continuous improvement in performance within a conducive training environment.

04

Championing Engagement

We've launched valuable initiatives to create an alum directory, host events, and enhance team communication. Sharing achievements serves as a bridge connecting our dedication with the broader SI community. In our three and a half decades of women's rowing, we've cultivated exceptional athletes and leaders who play a crucial role in inspiring, educating, mentoring, and supporting the next generation of female athletes. Together, we unite in our unwavering pursuit of excellence.
